SWWLA Meeting

The meeting was opened by President Larry Raley.

The minutes were read by Secretary Sharon Rico. Sharon K moved that the minutes be accepted as read, Cathy seconded the motion and it was passed.

The Treasurer’s Report was read by Treasurer Sharon Rico. There is $2194.20 in checking, $168.01 in savings, and $7190.10 in a CD. The CD is at 4.4% until 1/29/08 and can be withdrawn from without penalty. Sharon K moved that the Treasurer’s Report be accepted, Cathy seconded and it was passed.

Martha Brooks reported that the next newsletter deadline is May 10^th.

Stephanie requests pictures of past events to be posted on the website.

The Smith Llama Rescue: 6 llamas have been put down. All of the rest are in foster care and screening is in progress for adoptions as soon as Smith’s ownership is terminated.

Llama Affaire: Kirk reported that the insurance is ready, we are working on straw as there will be no sand, the judges are lined up and contracts signed, they will arrive into Portland Friday midday. It was proposed and passed that we have 2 young helpers paid at $50.00 per day on Sat and Sun. Bob is working on obstacles and we may paint and implement changes in Longview on Sat.

It was reported that WVLA Banquet had almost 4 tables of SWWLA members and they made within $1500 less than last year.

Western Regional Courtesy Table: Connie moved that we send $50.00 for a 3 Association Banner to hang above the Courtesy Table. Sharon K. second the motion and it was passed. Treasurer will email Betty Moe to let her know and get address of where to send.

Connie moved the meeting be adjourned. Lori seconded the motion and it was passed.
